Storage
To maintain the fragrance of cardamom:
- Store whole pods in an airtight container.
- Keep them away from moisture.
- Store in a cool, dry and dark place.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
- Grind seeds only when needed whenever possible.
Whole pods generally retain their aroma better than pre-ground cardamom powder.
Important Note
Cardamom is normally consumed in small culinary quantities. Concentrated cardamom extracts or supplements may have different effects and should not be used without appropriate professional guidance.
